Cookie Transparency

How WireCord utilizes local storage and session identifiers.

What are cookies?

Cookies are small text files stored on your device that help **WireCord** recognize your session. Because WireCord is a real-time application, we use these to maintain your connection to our WebSocket servers without requiring you to re-authenticate every time a message is sent.

Strictly Necessary Cookies

These cookies are required for the app to function. They cannot be disabled.

Cookie Name Purpose
wirecord_session Identifies your unique session to keep you logged in across page navigations.
XSRF-TOKEN A security cookie used to prevent Cross-Site Request Forgery attacks on chat inputs.
reverb_connection Used by our WebSocket engine to stabilize your real-time data stream.

Functional Preferences

In addition to cookies, we may use Local Storage to preserve your 2K workspace settings, such as:

  • Active server and channel selection.
  • Sidebar collapse states.
  • Theme preference (Light vs. Dark mode).

Third-Party Cookies

WireCord is designed to be privacy-first. We do not use third-party advertising or tracking cookies by default. Any analytics used are strictly first-party and anonymized.

We use cookies to improve your experience on WireCord. By continuing, you agree to our use of cookies.
